Como agree loan deal for Chelsea outcast Robert Sanchez

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez is reportedly set to join Como on loan after the Italian club reached a verbal agreement for the Spanish international. Football Italia reports that multiple outlets, including Fabrizio Romano, The Athletic and Sky Sport Italia, have confirmed the agreement. The move is expected to be a straight season-long loan without a purchase option, with Sanchez competing against Jean Butez for the starting position.

The 28-year-old made 50 competitive appearances for Chelsea last season, recording 15 clean sheets, but his position became uncertain after Emiliano Martinez arrived from Aston Villa. Sanchez could also feature in the Champions League with Como, who secured fourth place in Serie A last season. Como have meanwhile loaned Noel Tornqvist to Monza, clearing space for Sanchez.
