Como receive UEFA approval to add Caqueret to Champions League squad for Man Utd clash
Como have received UEFA approval to add midfielder Maxence Caqueret to their Champions League squad ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Manchester United. According to Football Italia, Cesc Fabregas’ side will replace injured Spanish winger Jesus Rodriguez with the French midfielder following a muscle injury sustained during Tuesday’s training session.
Rodriguez is expected to be sidelined for at least two months, allowing Como to request an emergency squad adjustment under UEFA regulations. The club submitted the necessary documentation on Tuesday, confirming the winger’s expected absence, before receiving approval on Wednesday morning.
Caqueret, who was initially omitted from the squad list, is now eligible to feature against United, although he is expected to begin on the bench. Como will also be without Trevoh Chalobah, Assane Diao and Moise Kean through injury, leaving Fabregas with just 16 available outfield players for the encounter.
