Coup plot evidence: Army Colonel bought six vehicles worth N65m days before alleged attempt to overthrow Tinubu
A car dealer has told military investigators that an Army colonel linked to Nigeria’s alleged 2025 coup plot purchased six vehicles worth N65 million in September 2025 — a period investigators believe marked the peak of the suspected conspirators’ operational preparations.
Ahmed Abdulganiyu, CEO of Arun G Motors in Abuja, named Colonel Mohammed Ma’aji of the Defence Space Administration as the buyer of two Toyota Corolla cars, one Toyota Prado SUV and three Toyota Hilux trucks, in payments of N46.5 million and N18.5 million made through two bank transfers on consecutive days.
As exclusively reported by Premium Times, the account forms part of over 7,400 pages of prosecution evidence filed in the ongoing federal high court trial of six individuals — including retired military officers — over the alleged plot to overthrow President Bola Tinubu. All defendants have denied wrongdoing.
