Crystal Palace hijack Sunderland’s £30m move for Malick Fofana

Crystal Palace have made a late attempt to hijack Sunderland’s deal for Lyon winger Malick Fofana, according to BBC Sport. The 21-year-old had agreed personal terms with Sunderland over a move worth almost £30 million, including an initial £25.6m fee and £4.3m in potential add-ons.

However, Palace have now submitted their own proposal as Fofana travels to England for a medical. Both clubs will compete in the Europa League this season, leaving the Belgium international with a major decision to make. Arsenal had also shown interest but failed to agree a fee with Lyon.
