Dad forgives wife who killed their three children

Patrick Clancy, whose three children were killed by his former wife, Lindsay Clancy, has said he forgave her despite her never asking for forgiveness, according to The Punch.

In his first televised interview since Lindsay’s murder trial ended in a mistrial, Patrick told CBS News’ 60 Minutes that he believed mental illness was responsible for the deaths.

Asked whether Lindsay had sought his forgiveness, Patrick said, “No. But I gave it to her.”

He also rejected descriptions of Lindsay as a “Killer Mom,” “Baby Murderer” and “Monster”, saying, “None of ’em were accurate,” and that “it was her mental illness that caused that.”

Patrick said forgiveness was necessary for his own healing, adding, “I would be eaten up inside forever” if he failed to forgive her.

Their children, Cora, Dawson and Callan, died after Lindsay attacked them at their Massachusetts home on January 24, 2023.
