Nigerian afrobeats star Davido joined billionaire Aliko Dangote at Times Square in New York as the ongoing initial public offering of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals was featured on the Nasdaq Tower billboard, according to a report by Punch.

The IPO, billed as Africa’s largest-ever share sale, opened this month with an offer of 4.1 billion ordinary shares at ₦525 each, targeting up to $1.6 billion in proceeds. Dangote has marketed the offering as an opportunity for ordinary Nigerians to invest, allowing participation with as few as 10 shares through digital platforms.

The Nasdaq Tower display marks another high-profile international moment for the refinery, which has reshaped Nigeria’s fuel market since beginning operations in 2024.
