Democrats pledge probes into ‘Trump crime family’ following midterm elections
Democrats are planning aggressive investigations into US President Donald Trump, his family and business associates if they gain control of the House of Representatives after the November 2026 midterm elections.
According to the Financial Times, Democratic Congressman Robert Garcia, who could lead the House Oversight Committee, said the panel would focus heavily on the Trump family’s business dealings and alleged corruption. He said the investigations could gather evidence potentially supporting impeachment proceedings and named Elon Musk and major corporate donors as possible subjects of scrutiny.
The Trump administration rejected the allegations, accusing Democrats of pursuing political obstruction. Several individuals and companies mentioned in connection with the investigations have denied wrongdoing.
