Didier Deschamps rejects Man United interest as Michael Carrick remains under pressure
Manchester United’s search for a potential replacement for manager Michael Carrick has encountered a major setback after former France head coach Didier Deschamps rejected an approach from the club, according to a report by GOAL.
The Red Devils contacted the 58-year-old following a poor start to the Premier League season, which has yielded just one victory in nine matches.
However, the World Cup winner turned down the opportunity, preferring to remain on a managerial break.
Carrick earned a brief respite after leading United to a 3-2 victory over Roma in the Champions League. Addressing the continuous speculation surrounding his position, Carrick remarked:
”I don’t have a crystal ball to know what happens next.”
“We move on to the weekend. We’ve got a really important game here against Aston Villa, which we need to prepare for right.”
