Europe deports 36 Nigerians

Thirty-six Nigerians have been deported from Europe in a joint operation involving four countries. According to PUNCH, citing Austrian outlet Heute.at, three Nigerians were deported from Austria, 29 from Germany, two from Luxembourg and one from Hungary, as part of a charter flight carrying 41 people to Lagos and Accra.

Germany organised the operation, contributing the largest number of deportees. PUNCH reports that Austria’s Interior Minister, Gerhard Karner, said the country would continue removing illegal residents and criminal offenders, noting a consistent deportation policy. Germany had earlier deported 137 Nigerians in five flights between February and June 2026.
