Ex-Obi campaign coordinator Ebiseni joins APC, supports Tinubu

Chief Sola Ebiseni has resigned as Secretary-General of Afenifere and joined the All Progressives Congress, declaring support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

According to Vanguard, Ebiseni, a former South-West Coordinator of Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign, announced the move during a meeting with Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in Akure.

He said his decision was influenced by the argument that the presidency should remain in southern Nigeria for political stability. Ebiseni also cited the need to consolidate Tinubu administration policies, including proposed state police and the expansion of Nigerian Army divisions.

The former Afenifere scribe identified the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as particularly important to his Ilaje community, saying he wanted to support its implementation and proper alignment through Ondo State.

Aiyedatiwa welcomed Ebiseni and his supporters, assuring them of integration into the APC campaign structure ahead of the 2027 elections.

Ebiseni said his support for Tinubu was “in the interest of the country” and that he was the “forerunner” of a wider group consulting across Nigeria.
