Fatai is third child, received four flats and other privileges — Okoya family
The family of billionaire industrialist Razaq Okoya has dismissed claims by Fatai Okoya that he is the businessman’s first child, insisting he is the third.
According to Premium Times, the family issued a statement through Nathaniel Omeninwan, senior public relations manager of Eleganza Industries Limited.
The statement followed Fatai’s public appeal for reconciliation with his father after decades of estrangement.
The family claimed Fatai had received four flats in Surulere, Lagos, alongside financial assistance for medical treatment.
It also rejected allegations that Shade Okoya prevented Fatai from meeting his father during a birthday event.
The family maintained that the disagreement began before Razaq married Shade.
Responding to the controversy, the family stated, “No misunderstanding can be settled online”.
It urged Fatai to resolve his grievances privately rather than involve the public.
The family further disclosed that influential family friends had previously intervened in the dispute over 40 years ago, with efforts reportedly made towards reconciliation.
