Florida mother arrested after leaving four children home alone during Las Vegas work trip
A Florida mother returning from a Las Vegas work trip was arrested at the airport after deputies discovered she had left her four children home without overnight supervision.
According to Fox News, body camera footage captured deputies arresting 50-year-old Irene Miller as she stepped off her flight on Friday.
The investigation began on Oct. 21 after one of Miller’s children called 911 to report that a dumbbell had fallen on her 9-year-old brother’s head. Osceola County deputies responded to the Kissimmee home and found four children, aged 9 to 14, unattended.
Miller explained she hired a babysitter to assist during daytime hours, but did not require overnight stays. The children were placed with their father, and Miller was booked on four counts of child neglect without great bodily harm.
The children’s father agreed to take all four to his home.
”The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office will not tolerate child neglect,” Sheriff Chris Blackmon said.
