Former Ballon d’Or winner Luis Figo calls for Infantino’s resignation
Former Portugal and Real Madrid legend Luis Figo has called on FIFA president Gianni Infantino to resign, accusing him of deception and self-interest as criticism of football’s governing body intensifies.
Writing in the Daily Mail and reported by The Telegraph, Figo said Infantino had damaged FIFA’s credibility and should step aside.
His intervention comes amid mounting opposition to the failed World Cup investment proposal, with UEFA figures and several national associations also questioning Infantino’s leadership ahead of the next FIFA presidential election.
