Goncalo Ramos fires Portugal to Nations League win as Cristiano Ronaldo benched
Goncalo Ramos scored the winner as Portugal maintained their perfect start to their Nations League title defence with a 2-1 victory over Norway in Oslo. According to Al Jazeera, Ramos started in place of Cristiano Ronaldo, who was named among the substitutes but did not feature.
João Félix opened the scoring in the 17th minute before Erling Haaland equalised six minutes into the second half. Ramos restored Portugal’s lead shortly afterwards after Norway goalkeeper Orjan Nyland gifted possession to the forward. Portugal held on despite late pressure from Norway to secure their second victory under new manager Jorge Jesus.
