Gordon opens Barcelona account as Vinicius sees red and Bayern make Bundesliga history
Anthony Gordon scored his first goal for Barcelona as the Spanish champions beat Getafe 3-0, while Real Madrid defeated Villarreal 1-0 despite Vinicius Junior’s dismissal on Saturday. According to AFP’s report published by The 42, Gordon opened the scoring in the second minute before Gabriel Jesus doubled Barcelona’s advantage.
Jules Kounde completed the victory, extending the Catalan club’s perfect start to the La Liga season. Real Madrid secured victory through 19-year-old Yan Diomande, but Vinicius was sent off after a VAR review showed him pulling Villarreal defender Nathan Saliba’s hair. The Brazilian could face suspension ahead of the Clasico on October 25.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich drew 2-2 with Augsburg after Manuel Neuer’s costly error allowed Robin Fellhauer to score after just 8.4 seconds, reportedly setting a Bundesliga record. In France, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Le Mans 3-1, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scoring shortly after coming off the bench.
