Gov. Yusuf appoints Emir of Rano Amirul Hajj, cites Gaya Emir’s precedent
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has appointed the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umar, as Amirul Hajj for 2027, according to The Punch.
The announcement, made in a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, came during the wedding and turbaning ceremony of the Emir’s first son, Muhammad Abubakar Isa, held Friday at the Rano Emirate.
Yusuf explained the choice followed the Emir of Gaya’s leadership of the state’s Hajj delegation in the previous year. The Emir and emirate members welcomed the appointment, thanking the governor for the honour bestowed on Rano Emirate.
