Gunmen invade Osun collation centre in Osogbo, fire shots to disrupt result counting

Hooded gunmen have invaded a collation centre in Osogbo, Osun State, firing shots sporadically into the air for approximately five minutes in an apparent attempt to disrupt the ongoing collation of governorship election results.

As reported by Vanguard, the attack occurred at the Ataoja D collation centre inside Union Baptist Primary School — covering multiple polling units of Ward 4 in the state capital — at approximately 9:45pm on Saturday.

The shooting was described as intense before the situation was brought under control. No casualties were immediately reported.

The invasion comes amid earlier allegations by Adeleke’s Accord Party campaign of ballot box hijackings and a plot to subvert the electoral process. INEC officials and security agencies had not issued an immediate statement on the collation centre attack as of the time of this report.
