Haaland and Maresca hail Man City teenager Bouaddi after Porto masterclass
Manchester City teenager Ayyoub Bouaddi earned glowing praise from manager Enzo Maresca and striker Erling Haaland after an impressive Champions League debut in their 2-0 victory over Porto. According to GOAL, the 18-year-old started in midfield and completed 54 of 55 passes while making seven recoveries before being substituted in the 76th minute.
Maresca praised Bouaddi’s composure, saying he was “never in panic” during a demanding European away game. Haaland also called the youngster a “gem” after his assured display, although he jokingly criticised him for failing to play a pass that could have put the Norwegian through on goal. The victory extended City’s perfect start to four wins in all competitions, with attention now turning to Sunday’s Manchester derby against United.
