Harry Kane agrees in principle to Bayern Munich contract extension until 2029
Harry Kane has reportedly agreed in principle to extend his Bayern Munich contract until 2029, potentially reducing his chances of returning to the Premier League to challenge Alan Shearer’s scoring record.
According to Sports Mole, citing Sky Sports News, Bayern are preparing the legal documents for a lucrative new deal for the England captain, who joined the German champions from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.
The 33-year-old has scored 154 goals in 156 appearances for Bayern, helping the club win two consecutive Bundesliga titles, the German Cup and successive German Super Cups. Kane also became the fastest player to score 100 Bundesliga goals, reaching the milestone in 98 appearances earlier this month.
Before leaving Tottenham, the striker had scored 213 Premier League goals, leaving him 47 short of Shearer’s all-time record of 260. A contract extension until 2029 would make surpassing that landmark increasingly difficult, although Kane’s future ambitions have not been officially confirmed.
