A past interview detailing veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, and his seven-year battle with illness has resurfaced following his death aged 66.
According to PUNCH, Ogogo revealed in the July 2025 interview that he battled a severe ulcer that caused him to vomit blood and made eating extremely difficult.
“I spent six, seven years battling this illness, ulcer. I would vomit blood,” he recalled.
The actor said doctors warned that a local malaria remedy involving Alabukun and lime had aggravated his ulcer.
Ogogo also revealed that he survived largely on cornmeal for seven years because he struggled to keep other foods down.
He said he eventually combined medical and spiritual treatment and expressed gratitude to God for surviving the prolonged illness.
