Igor Thiago fires Brentford to victory as Forest suffer another defeat
Brentford ended their four-match winless run with a 2-0 Premier League victory over Nottingham Forest at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.
Forest dominated much of the attacking statistics but were punished for their poor finishing, managing just two shots on target from 12 attempts.
According to The Irish News, Brentford took the lead in the 30th minute through an unfortunate Nikola Milenkovic own goal after Dango Ouattara’s attempted cross deflected off the defender and looped into the net.
Igor Thiago doubled the advantage in the second half, finishing Jaidon Anthony’s cross after another deflection off Milenkovic. Forest missed several opportunities, including a clear chance for substitute Ryan Yates, who headed over from close range.
The victory came in Brentford’s 100th Premier League match at the Gtech Stadium, while Forest’s disappointing league campaign continued.
