Ilhan Omar calls Trump a “creep” after he revives “fake name” and marriage claims
Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., on Friday lashed out at President Donald Trump after he accused her of using a “fake name” and revived longstanding allegations surrounding her former marriage, Fox News reports.
Omar wrote on X: “The pedophile protection party’s president is laundering right-wing conspiracy theories through the most corrupt DOJ in American history.” She added: “My name has always been Ilhan Omar.” Her office insists that is her real name. Omar has not been charged with a crime.
Trump wrote on Truth Social: “It was just revealed that Ilhan Omar’s name is not Ilhan Omar,” and called for her resignation. His post followed a Fox News Digital report, citing two people familiar with the investigation, that her birth name is Ilhan Nur Said Elmi. A Justice Department court filing identified her as “Congresswoman Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.” He revived claims that her former husband, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, is her brother, which Omar has denied.
