Chinese entities have reportedly supplied Iran with thousands of shipments containing components that could be used to manufacture drones and missiles during Tehran’s conflict with the United States.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Iranian customs records show Chinese entities shipped electronics and other components used in drone production and missile guidance systems.

One shipment reportedly arrived in Tehran for Iran’s Ministry of Defense on the same day China publicly highlighted its diplomatic efforts to ease tensions and promote peace.

The disclosure comes as US President Donald Trump seeks to preserve relations with Chinese President Xi Jinping amid talks between both leaders.

China has presented itself as a diplomatic intermediary in the conflict, with officials saying Beijing made dozens of calls promoting peace.
