Iran war could cost Trump midterms – Lara Trump

President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, has acknowledged that the war with Iran could cost Republicans control of Congress in the November midterm elections, but said the potential political loss would be justified.

Speaking to British journalist Harry Cole on his YouTube programme, “Harry Cole Saves the West”, Lara Trump claimed that Iranian leaders were deliberately delaying a deal until after the elections to undermine President Trump politically.

“Well, it could cost him these midterms,” she said, while maintaining that Donald Trump’s legacy had yet to be written.

According to The Hill, Lara Trump also defended the administration’s military action, saying losing control of both chambers of Congress would be worth preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

“Yeah,” she said when asked whether the war was worth potentially losing both chambers to Democrats. “Look, I think he just understands that when Iran gets a nuclear weapon, it doesn’t matter who is in charge of the House. It doesn’t matter the majority in the Senate.”
