Iranians sound alarm as regime supporters allowed to take weapons home after military training
Some participants in military training programmes for supporters of Iran’s Islamic Republic, including Basij militia members and religious seminary students, have reportedly been allowed to take firearms home after completing training.
According to a report by Iran International, citizens said authorities were expanding firearms training to schools across Iran.
One citizen said weapons supplied by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to Basij members for training were taken to their homes or other locations after the courses ended.
The report said some training sessions concluded without a clear mechanism for collecting the firearms, leaving weapons in participants’ possession.
Another citizen reportedly said a neighbour who was a religious seminary student brought several firearms home after completing training and stored them in a designated location.
The accounts come as Iranian authorities expand firearms training programmes, raising concerns over the handling and storage of weapons outside formal military facilities.
