Jose Mourinho slams Real Madrid defense after late goal denies Thibaut Courtois clean sheet

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho voiced sharp frustration with his defensive line following a 4-1 Champions League victory over RB Leipzig, according to a report by The Real Champs. Despite a convincing team performance and a five-save display from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, a lapse in concentration led to an 85th-minute consolation goal for the visitors.

Post-match, Mourinho expressed anger that his defense failed to maintain focus late in the contest, stating that Courtois’ teammates “ruined the night for him” after the Belgian produced several crucial stops throughout the match.

The late concession highlights an ongoing issue for Real Madrid this season, having surrendered similar late goals in fixtures against Inter Milan, Rayo Vallecano, and Sevilla despite earning positive results. With defensive consistency remaining an objective for the club, Mourinho warned that continuing lapses in concentration could prove costly as the season progresses.
