Kano: Bandits abduct APC chairman

Suspected bandits have abducted the APC chairman of Rogo Local Government Area, Abdullahi Fanka Beli, during a 1am raid on Beli community in Kano State on Tuesday — the third bandit attack on communities across the state within three days.

According to Sahara Reporters, gunmen reportedly forced their way into the chairman’s residence and took him away, killing one resident and injuring several others during the assault.

The attacks follow Sunday’s raid on Chiromawa in Garun Malam LGA — where three people were killed and an elderly resident briefly abducted — and Monday night’s attack on Rantan community in Bebeji LGA, where two residents including the APC ward chairman Garba Buba were reportedly killed.

The Kano State Police Command had not issued an official statement at press time.
