Kanter Freedom files federal lawsuit after being booted from WNBA game

Former NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom filed a federal lawsuit in Illinois on Thursday, alleging he was wrongfully ejected from an Aug. 23 Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Fever game at Wintrust Arena, according to a New York Post report.

The suit names the Sky, the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, and the City of Chicago, claiming the parties conspired to remove him after Sky guard Natasha Cloud confronted him over a shirt reading “WOMAN noun, adult human female.”

Freedom said he was later handed an indefinite arena ban and is seeking damages plus an injunction lifting the prohibition, citing first amendment retaliation.
