Kenya Airways confirms death of passenger during Nairobi-Lagos trip
A Nigerian passenger aboard a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi died shortly before the aircraft landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Tuesday night.
According to THISDAY, cabin crew discovered the passenger was unresponsive at about 9:20 p.m., roughly 20 minutes before the scheduled landing.
The aircraft landed around 9:41 p.m., with emergency medical personnel waiting to board. The passenger was pronounced dead following an onboard examination.
Kenya Airways confirmed the death on Wednesday, extended condolences to the deceased’s family and apologised to passengers for disruptions caused by the emergency.
The airline said it was cooperating with local authorities and aviation regulators over post-incident procedures.
THISDAY reported that the passenger showed no signs of illness when he boarded but later became restless during the flight.
Passengers reportedly assisted cabin crew in restraining him before he became motionless after the aircraft entered Nigerian airspace.
