Keyamo urges EgyptAir to replace ageing aircraft on Nigerian routes
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has called on EgyptAir to replace ageing aircraft currently operating on Nigerian routes with newer-generation planes. According to Nairametrics, Keyamo made the call during a bilateral meeting with Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Sameh El-Hefny, on the sidelines of the El-Alamein International Airshow 2026 in Egypt.
Keyamo said fleet modernisation would improve passenger experience, operational efficiency and EgyptAir’s competitiveness, while reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening aviation ties with Egypt, boosting connectivity, tourism and trade.
The meeting also focused on cooperation under the Single African Air Transport Market and stronger collaboration between African and Arab aviation bodies.
