Kidnappers abduct prospective corps member, 18 others travelling from Ibadan
A distressed mother has appealed for help after her NYSC-bound daughter, Kehinde, and 18 others were reportedly abducted while travelling from Ibadan to Akwa Ibom State.
Peoples Gazette reported that the incident occurred along the Imo-Abia road on Thursday as the passengers travelled to National Youth Service Corps camp.
“Nigerians help me. My child left home for NYSC camp and alerted our family WhatsApp group, typing ‘Kidnapper.’ Others also sent us video. The incident happened along Imo to Abia,” the woman said.
She said Kehinde was travelling with other passengers aboard a Uko Akwa Ibom Motors bus when they were reportedly seized.
“We learnt my child, Kehinde, and the whole passengers and driver have been abducted,” she added.
The woman appealed to President Bola Tinubu and the Inspector-General of Police for intervention.
Police spokespersons in Imo and Akwa Ibom had not commented on the reported abduction as of filing time.
