Kim Kardashian diagnosed with esophagitis…recalls father’s fight with esophageal cancer

Kim Kardashian has revealed she was hospitalized for esophagitis, a condition with heartbreaking echoes of the disease that killed her father Robert Kardashian at age 59, according to the Daily Mail.

The latest trailer for season eight of “The Kardashians” shows Kim telling her makeup team, “I have something called esophagitis,” before she is seen lying in a hospital bed as medical staffers tend to her.

A friend then asks whether it’s the same condition that killed Robert, prompting an emotional Kris Jenner to say, “I can’t, it makes me want to cry.” Robert, the attorney who famously defended O.J. Simpson, died from esophageal cancer in 2003.

The Daily Mail further noted that in a 2023 interview with GQ, Kim recalled her father telling her before his death: “I know you’re going to be okay… just take care of your siblings for me.” She said the words shaped how she approached life afterward.

Last year, on the anniversary of his death, Kim paid tribute to Robert on Instagram, thanking him for “always protecting the family from heaven” — a bond the new season appears set to revisit through her latest health scare.
