Kwankwaso urges Atiku to withdraw from 2027 presidential race
Nigeria Democratic Congress vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has urged African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to withdraw from the 2027 presidential race. According to The PUNCH, Kwankwaso made the call while receiving members of the Fulani Farmers Association at his Abuja residence on Thursday.
The former Kano State governor cited Atiku’s age and health as reasons for urging him to step aside and focus on his traditional responsibilities as the Wazirin Adamawa.
Kwankwaso also appealed to Atiku’s supporters to convince him to withdraw from the contest, promising that he would be well taken care of if the opposition succeeds in the 2027 election. Atiku has previously said the 2027 election could be his final presidential bid.
