Lagos police bust high-tech indoor cannabis farm, arrest two
The Lagos State Police Command has detained a 36-year-old Nigerian and a 49-year-old Polish national for allegedly operating a high-tech indoor cannabis farm in their Apapa residence, the P.M news reports.
Spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi said operatives of CP Fatai Tijani’s command, acting on credible intelligence, uncovered the facility on Monday at about 8:15 a.m.
She said it was equipped for cultivating, harvesting and processing suspected cannabis, adding that the suspects had made confessional statements.
“The CP subsequently visited the scene to inspect the facility, assess the scale of the operation and received a briefing on the investigation. Tijani commended the operatives for their vigilance and effective intelligence-led policing. He reiterated the command’s commitment to combating drug-related offences, dismantling criminal networks and preventing criminal activities from taking root in the state. The commissioner also appreciated members of the public for their cooperation and urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to the police,” Adebisi said.
