Liverpool Coach Tommy Elphick tipped for future managerial role after development

Liverpool first-team coach Tommy Elphick has been tipped to pursue a managerial career after gaining experience under head coach Andoni Iraola at Anfield. Former Aston Villa team-mate Alan Hutton believes Elphick possesses the leadership qualities required to eventually take charge of a club. According to Liverpool.com, Elphick followed Iraola to Liverpool in June after previously working with him at Bournemouth.

The 39-year-old had reportedly rejected an opportunity to manage Championship side Bristol City before making the move to Anfield. Hutton said Elphick was always destined for coaching and suggested his current role represents an important learning experience. Liverpool have made an unbeaten start under Iraola, recording two wins and three draws from their opening five Premier League matches.
