Man City reject Haaland release clause claims after 114-charge guilty verdict
Manchester City have rejected claims that Erling Haaland and other key players have relegation-triggered release clauses following the club’s guilty verdict on Premier League financial charges. According to TEAMtalk, City sources insist there are no such clauses in Haaland’s contract, despite speculation following the verdict.
The Norway international signed a new long-term deal last year, with the club reportedly choosing not to include a release clause linked to relegation. City are already preparing an appeal and remain confident of overturning the verdict.
While rival clubs reportedly expect a significant financial penalty, City believe potential compensation claims would not threaten their Premier League status. The club has also told key players there is no reason for panic as the legal process continues.
