A Stockport man in his 60s is on trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court accused of drugging and raping his wife for more than 20 years and inviting other men online to abuse her while unconscious; the allegations are untested and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

A man in his 60s is accused of drugging and raping his unconscious wife for more than 20 years and inviting strangers online to abuse her, a jury at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court has heard, according to a report by The Sun.

The man, described as holding a respectable job and being a trusted member of the Stockport community, was arrested last October when police raided the couple’s home. Officers told his wife they believed he had been abusing her for over two decades and drugging her so other men could come and abuse her.

The jury of nine men and three women was told he took a million photos and videos of the alleged abuse. Prosecutor Louise Oakley KC said he was in contact online with men who shared an interest in abusing “unaware” women.

“He did not hide the fact that his wife was and would be unaware of the third parties he communicated with,” Ms Oakley told jurors. “His profile specifically referred to her being ‘out of it’.”

The allegations have not been proven, and the trial continues.
