British man pleads guilty to drugging, raping wife over 20-year period
A man from Stockport has admitted 60 offences against his wife, including rape and administering substances, after drugging and assaulting her without her knowledge for more than 20 years, according to a report by BBC.
The man, who cannot be named to protect his wife’s anonymity, pleaded guilty to multiple charges at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, becoming visibly emotional as he repeated “guilty” to each count. Twelve other men deny similar serious sexual offences against the same woman, with a thirteenth having previously admitted related offences.
The husband’s offending dates back to 2004, while allegations against the other defendants span September 2018 to November 2025. He will be sentenced once the trial concludes. The case continues in the coming weeks.
