Man United fear Benjamin Sesko could be out until 2027

Manchester United are reportedly concerned that striker Benjamin Sesko could miss the remainder of 2026 because of an injury, potentially leaving the club without their first-choice centre-forward for several months. According to Sports Mole, the Slovenia international could remain sidelined until February, although the club are still awaiting a clearer assessment of the problem.

Sesko has missed Manchester United’s last four matches in all competitions and will also be unavailable for Wednesday’s Champions League encounter against Como. The 23-year-old struggled with a shin injury towards the end of last season, which also forced him to miss the entire pre-season programme. He has made six appearances this campaign, scoring twice.

United head coach Michael Carrick said the club hoped to establish the extent of the injury before the end of the week. “We are hoping soon that we will have a clear picture. I am not trying to delay it,” Carrick told reporters. “Hopefully next time we speak, maybe not tomorrow but by the end of the week we will have something a bit clearer. There is a bit of work going on at the moment so we will see what comes out of that.” Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Joshua Zirkzee have deputised through the middle, with Mbeumo and captain Bruno Fernandes leading the team’s scoring charts on four goals each.
