Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs target compensation after Man City FFP verdict

Manchester City face potential compensation claims from four Premier League rivals after an independent commission found the club guilty of 114 of 115 charges relating to alleged financial rule breaches.

According to The Independent, Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur preserved their rights to pursue claims over potential lost earnings under Section W of the Premier League’s competition rules.

The clubs could reportedly seek more than £200 million in combined compensation, although any legal action would depend on the outcome of Manchester City’s appeal and subsequent proceedings.

The verdict, revealed by David Ornstein for The Athletic, represents a major development in the Premier League’s long-running case against City, which began with charges in 2023 following a four-year investigation into alleged breaches between 2009 and 2018. City have consistently denied wrongdoing and are expected to challenge the findings.
