Man Utd boss Carrick responds to confidence criticism after Tottenham draw
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has rejected suggestions that a lack of confidence is responsible for his side’s disappointing performances after they surrendered a lead to draw 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
According to the Daily Mirror, Carrick disagreed with Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp, who criticised United’s organisation, attacking patterns and energy levels.
United appeared set for victory after Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off, but Dominic Solanke struck a late equaliser to deny the hosts all three points. Carrick admitted the result was painful, acknowledging supporters’ frustration after boos greeted the team at half-time and full-time.
