Man Utd miss out on four left-back targets as summer search ends
Manchester United have ended the summer transfer window without signing a new left-back despite pursuing several options. According to Daily Express, United explored moves for Newcastle’s Lewis Hall, Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde, Manchester City’s Rayan Ait-Nouri and Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly, but none materialised. City wanted an obligation to buy as part of any Ait-Nouri loan, while Barcelona were only open to a permanent Balde transfer.
United also considered Ian Maatsen and Ferdi Kadioglu before deciding against a short-term solution. Luke Shaw is therefore expected to remain the first choice, with Patrick Dorgu, Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui providing alternative options.
