A North Carolina man whose micropenis became an unlikely crowdfunding success story finally has a surgery date. Michael Phillips, who publicly declared himself the owner of the world’s smallest penis at 0.38 inches, has scheduled a $4,000 enhancement procedure for August 17 with a Charlotte doctor who will inject dermal filler to increase girth, according to the New York Post, citing TMZ.

Phillips launched a GoFundMe campaign that has since raised more than $13,500 — well beyond his target — with surplus funds covering medication and follow-up appointments.

The operation, Phillips stressed, will not cure his micropenis condition but will improve his daily life by allowing him to stop wearing pull-up diapers and regain what he described as “normalcy and comfort.” Phillips said the condition had made it “extremely difficult” to use the bathroom and had left him a virgin, calling the topic deeply embarrassing but one he chose to address publicly.
