Mechanic allegedly killed after being deceived with car repair job

A mechanic identified as Samson has been killed after he was allegedly lured to Abijo, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, with a fake request to repair a Mercedes-Benz.

According to Legit.ng, Samson, who operated a workshop near Warike Estate, received a call requesting his services before travelling to the agreed location on September 15.

Police sources said he was allegedly taken into a bush and hacked to death, with suspected cultists believed to be behind the attack.

An anti-cultism advocacy platform linked the killing to retaliation for an earlier clash involving rival cult groups in the area.

Lagos police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi confirmed the case, saying Samson’s family initially reported him missing.

Police said investigations were ongoing to establish circumstances surrounding his death.
