A Michigan man has been arrested and charged with making threats against FBI Director Kash Patel, federal prosecutors announced, according to CNN.

Anthony Daniel Palazzolo, 42, of Chesterfield Township, is accused of sending Facebook messages earlier in October threatening to kill Patel and an unidentified associate. He is charged with interstate communications involving threats, court records show.

According to the criminal complaint, FBI agents traced him through his Facebook and TikTok accounts and interviewed him on October 9, when he admitted sending the messages and apologised, saying he had no intent to harm anyone. Prosecutors allege he later emailed threats to federal officials and left voicemails threatening to “use deadly force.”

Palazzolo appeared in federal court on Friday and was temporarily detained, with a detention hearing set for Monday. He has not entered a plea.
