Motorists abandon NNPCL stations as MRS, AA Rano cut petrol prices
Motorists in Abuja have abandoned Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited filling stations, which continue selling petrol at between N1,299 and N1,310 per litre, as MRS, AA Rano, Sharon and other outlets cut prices to N1,210–N1,235 per litre following Dangote Refinery’s latest reduction to N1,165 per litre, DAILY POST reports.
“I have hardly sold petrol to four or 10 persons since today,” an NNPCL attendant said, expressing hope prices would drop by Tuesday.
NNPCL spokesperson Andy Odeh did not respond to inquiries. The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority has meanwhile commenced consultations with stakeholders on anti-competitive petroleum pricing practices.
