Mystery seafloor formation fuels alien base speculation in Papua New Guinea
A mysterious structure spotted on the seafloor near Papua New Guinea has sparked claims that an alien base may be hiding below the surface
A self-described UFO researcher has claimed a large rectangular structure spotted on the ocean floor near Papua New Guinea could be an alien base, according to a report by the Daily Mail.
Scott C. Waring, who runs the YouTube channel UFO Sightings Daily, said he identified the formation while browsing seafloor maps produced by the Seabed 2030 project, estimating it at roughly 10 miles long and four miles wide, extending as far as 15 miles beneath the seabed. He described it as a “megalith structure” potentially containing 20 buildings the size of the Empire State Building, and claimed the site appeared “occupied,” saying “aliens are living there right now,” per the Daily Mail.
However, the report noted there is no independent evidence that the structure is artificial or occupied, and confirming any such claim would require detailed sonar surveys, underwater photography and physical evidence — none of which have been conducted.
