NAFDAC uncovers Chinese counterfeiters operating factories, logistics firms in Nigeria
NAFDAC has uncovered a network of Chinese counterfeiters allegedly operating manufacturing plants and logistics facilities in Nigeria to produce and distribute fake products, according to The Whistler.
NAFDAC Director of Investigation and Enforcement, Martins Iluyomade, said counterfeiters now reproduce popular products locally after obtaining samples from the Nigerian market.
He said the agency had begun shutting illegal logistics facilities linked to the network and was targeting manufacturers, warehouses and distributors. NAFDAC Director-General Mojisola Adeyeye said the agency confiscated and destroyed regulated products worth over N1.5tn during recent operations. She added that 64 counterfeiters were convicted between June 2025 and June 2026.
