Name officials who tampered with voter register, conduct forensic audit — Atiku tells INEC
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has demanded that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) name the officials who allegedly manipulated the voter register and subject the register to an independent forensic audit.
In a statement issued by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication for the ADC Presidential Campaign Council and published by Peoples Gazette, the ADC presidential candidate said INEC had admitted that AI-generated images and other irregularities entered the register through registration officers.
Atiku cited an allegation that more than 20 million AI-generated images may be involved. He urged the commission to suspend and prosecute the officers responsible, preserve all voter records and access logs, and disclose the companies contracted to produce sensitive election materials.
He also threatened to go to court to compel disclosure if INEC refuses.
“The credibility of the 2027 election is on the line,” he said.
