NCoS opens investigation into inmate’s viral TikTok broadcast in Ogun
The Nigerian Correctional Service has removed the Officer-in-Charge of Ibara Medium Custodial Centre in Abeokuta, along with two other officers, after a death row inmate went live on TikTok using a smuggled phone, according to Vanguard News.
Controller General Sylvester Nwakuche ordered the removals to ensure a transparent probe, the NCoS said in a statement, calling it a serious breach of custodial security. The phone has been recovered, and the inmate transferred to another facility under enhanced security. Investigations continue into possible complicity by officers or external collaborators.
